Outline of the Daily Program

Day 1, September 4, Thursday: Opening Ceremony outside. Inside introductions of grandmothers, ambassadors. Guest speakers, Breakout Sessions (lead by grandmothers), Youth Activity, Fireside Grandmothers Wisdom/Prayers.

Day 2: September 5, Friday: Guest speakers, Youth Activity, Fireside Grandmothers Wisdom/Prayers.

Day 3, September 6, Saturday: Wacipi (Pow Wow). Guest Speakers, Breakout sessions, Youth Activity, fireside Grandmothers Wisdom/Prayers.

Day 4, September 7, Sunday: Closing Ceremony. Guest Speakers, Youth Activity.

Conference Registration

ALL 4 DAY PASS: $550
access to all the events on the program.

DAY PASS FOR Saturday: $150
this will include Breakout Session, Guest Speakers, Youth Activity and Buffalo stew, Frybread supper, Lakota style Grandmothers Appreciation Pow Wow.

DAY PASS: $125 per day
access to all daily activities except Saturday.

POW WOW: GENERAL PUBLIC ADMISSION: $10
(registered for gathering)

NOTICE:

  • All Native American Tribal Members are eligible to attend at no charge but are asked to complete and send the registration form (Must show ID).
  • Non-Native American Elders 70 years + are eligible for scholarship. Scholarships are available to the first 50 who register.
  • Youth under 16 years old are free.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

Pre-conference day trip excursion to sacred sites with the Grandmothers. Details to be announced soon. Cost not included in the gathering registration fee.

DAY TRIP 1: September 2nd, 2014: Visit Mato Tipila (aka Devils Tower), Wyoming and Vore Buffalo Jump, Beulah, Wyoming.

DAY TRIP 2: September 3rd, 2014: visit to Mato Paha (Bear Butte) and Tasunke Witko, Crazy Horse.

By registering for this conference, participants expressly acknowledge and agree to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers sponsors of this event.

All reasonable endeavors will be made to hold the Conference and to present its program as scheduled under the circumstances which assure the comfort and the safety of all participants and their guests. However, the organizers cannot be held responsible by any person as a result of a cancellation of any presentations connected with it, or for any injury, damage or inconvenience which may be suffered by any person while traveling to and from, or during their presence in the at Spearfish, SD, in connection with the 13th Grandmothers Gathering. Through the registration you agree that you have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before participating in the event.

Code of Conduct:

The registrant agrees to conduct him/herself in a cordial manner. The event organizers will not tolerate any registrant who creates a disturbance; is disrespectful to any other registrant, any of its speakers and attendees, exhibitors, volunteers or staff. We reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to investigate any complaint and to dismiss any registrant found by to have violated the Code of Conduct, without refund of registration fees.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be received in writing. Refunds, minus a $50 processing fee, will be processed after the conference. Cancellations can be applied toward a donation toward the conference if you desire. Please note that you are responsible for payment if you do not cancel your registration and do not attend the conference.

Use of Likeness Disclaimer:

The sponsors of the event:

  • may videotape sessions and take pictures during the conference that may be viewable on their website. In addition the event will be monitored for unauthorized photography and recording. You agree not to photograph, record or digitize any parts of the presentations.
  • may use your name and likeness on their website and in future materials at their sole discretion and without payment or remuneration of any kind to participants. Participants expressly waive any and all causes of action against the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers for the appropriation of participant’s name and likeness, as well as any other related causes of action, if any.
